Preparing for Postpartum

WORKSHOP

Postpartum is such a precious and vulnerable time in a family’s life, and it will bring many expected and unexpected experiences. My time spent with families during period has given me an insight into not only its joys, but also its challenges, and how important it is to protect that time.

I genuinely believe that a supported postpartum is key for a good start to parenting and for promoting good physical and mental health for everyone involved, so I offer this Preparing for Postpartum workshop as a way of helping you put in place the foundations for as positive a time as possible when your little one is born.

In this 2h workshop, we’ll cover:

  • What to expect of postpartum
  • The key elements of postpartum care
  • How to put together a postpartum plan
  • What are postpartum doulas
  • The role of partners, and preparing your relationship

The workshop is delivered live and online, so you can attend from the comfort of your home and from wherever you are. It will include some group discussions, and you’ll receive a lot of useful information and invitations to think about the various aspects of postpartum.

As part of the workshop, you will also receive useful handouts and tools to get you going on your journey of preparing your nest once your baby arrives.

What others say about it

Whilst developing this workshop, I test-ran it with a group of mothers to ensure its content covered what they would’ve liked to know and consider before their babies were here. Here’s some of their feedback:

‘The Preparing for Postpartum workshop is a gem that should be shared and watched by all parents-to-be. It contains a lot of important information I wished someone had told me when I was experiencing this stage of both mine and my daughter’s lives. How we experience the postpartum can determine a lot of the rest of our parenthood as it is when this special bond and relationship begins. We are often drifted away from our instincts and this workshop not only shows you how important it is to listen to them, but also empowers you to do so!

‘It condensed a lot of info that I spent time reading about into a workshop, plus the prompts for partners and starting to write your postpartum plan were extremely useful! Also, Sara always creates a welcoming, warm environment that will put expecting parents at ease.’

‘I’d definitely recommend this workshop to future parents as going through pregnancy/postpartum is not always what we expect. It’s about being open minded and resilient and this workshop could be a light at the end of the tunnel when everything seems dark, a warm hug when you’re feeling overwhelmed or even that friendly push to reaffirm that you can do it!’
